The valley of Pancho Rico is named after Spaniard and California, Francisco Rico. He was one of the owners of the Spanish Land Grant, Rancho San Bernardo that encompassed the town of San Ardo and beyond. Although he owned it for a time, it is thought that he may have never visited the valley. Nevertheless he is a part of our history and when we collect some new info on this period of time, we'll get it up on this page.
